Patrick's teaching philosophy is as follows: Patrick believes in a comprehensive approach to music education. He believes above all else that students should feel excited about learning music. So as much as rigorous practice and disciplined exercise do yield excellent results, Patrick always makes sure his students are having fun too. Patrick teaches with an interdisciplinary approach meaning that he builds musicianship and artistry into his teaching alongside with solid pedagogical techniques that reference the latest in brain science. Good teaching is about calculated inquiry and collaboration. Patrick's students seem to learn best when guided through a process of discovery.
