PHILOSOPHY OF TEACHING

Lessons are tailored to suit students’ needs, goals and desires. I believe the work accomplished in the six days between lessons is just as important as the lesson itself. It is often nice to have goals such as performances, recitals etc., that allow students to share and feel proud of their accomplishments.

Music lessons have been proven to benefit students in so many areas of life. The study of an instrument refines discipline and patience, improves academic achievements and develops physical skills…not to mention it is incredibly rewarding and fun!

I encourage proper set up and technique from the very first lesson and I am comfortable teaching many different styles of music. Lessons are tailored to suit students’ needs, goals and desires. Consistent practice is the key to achieving results. I believe the work accomplished in the six days between lessons is just as important as the lesson itself. I also encourage my students to perform in the recitals that Neighbour Note presents. It is often nice to have goals such as performances, recitals etc., that allow students to share and feel proud of their accomplishments.
