Dean is an avid and accomplished touring guitarist, songwriter, session musician, and teacher. He has already logged hundreds of performances in over 30 countries across Europe, North America, and Latin America, all by the age of 21.
Having first picked up the guitar at age 12, his passion for music and guitar blossomed quickly. After countless hours of dedicated practice, by age 15 Dean received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music for their summer guitar program, studying under Joe Stump among other Berklee teachers. Once back in Toronto, Dean achieved success performing in bands around Ontario & Quebec as well as writing and recording his own music.
By the age of 18 Dean became the lead guitarist for Rhode Island (US) based band, Vital Remains, honing a difficult catalog of neo-classical soloing, and touring heavily around the world. Since then Dean has experienced everything from extensive touring cycles, to major European festival appearances, to performing in the favelas of Brazil, and everything in between.
I strongly feel it is important to not only teach students but to inspire and encourage them as well.
Teaching is an extremely rewarding experience, profession, and gift. For these reasons I strongly feel it is important to not only teach students but to inspire and encourage them as well. The experience should feel natural and not forced. My goal with each student is to make them feel incentivized so they constantly pick up the guitar and fall in love with the music they are learning. My hope is that all students continue to grow and thrive as musicians by entertaining and inspiring others to do the same for years to come.
